Choosing the Right Time for Dog Photography at the Park
Photographing Taizu, Lyanna, & Bane at McDaniel Farm Park in Duluth, GA in June of 2020 was my third time photographing in the metro Atlanta park, but my first time photographing dogs in the morning at the park.
Morning has now become my preferred time to photograph dogs at McDaniel Farm Park. Not only can we beat the summer heat with a morning pet photography session, the park is less crowded, & most importantly the LIGHT.
I am absolutely in love with the gorgeous glowing light filtering over the hill and through the trees to create these beautiful back lit portraits with really highlights that fluffy Tibetan Mastiff fur on Bane & Lyanna.
We’ll always be kin, be kind, be bringers of light
Making me feel golden
Clinging to the one who makes my heart to sing
As long as the earth turns
Long as the sun shines

Taizu the Senior Rescue Dog
Tai was an absolute sweetheart to photograph. I love the wisdom in a senior dog’s eyes. I also think his striking tan & white fur looks so reach and warm against the natural light filled background in his dog portraits at the park.
And, if you want to know a secret, Tai was on leash for 100% of his portraits during our dog photography session at McDaniel Farm Park. Your dog’s safety is my number 1 priority during your pet photography session. Thanks to the magic of photoshop & post processing, I can simply remove the leashes in post production delivering the beautiful, natural, off leash dog portraits you’ve been dreaming of while keeping your dog 100% safe.
The Most Requested Dog Portrait for Pet Photographers
I think every single pet photography client hopes a professional pet photographer can deliver on the group image. It’s really difficult to get more than one dog to pose at the same time and look in the same direction while trying to take a photo.
Luckily, when you hire a professinal pet photographer, we have a wealth of tricks up our sleeves to get the right expression from everyone. I love this portrait of all three pups posing on the big hill at McDaniel Farm Park.
