An Early Morning Pet Photography Session in Suwanee Georgia

Written by Courtney Bryson

What time should you have your pet’s photo session?

If you’re here on my blog I’m guessing you love pictures of dogs. Specifically maybe pictures of dogs with sunny bits of light filtering through trees and highlighting just the tips of ears to give everything a magical sun kissed glow?

Yes? Oh good, me too!

If you want your pet’s photography session to have that glow, choosing the right time of day for your session is super important. I like to work with the biggest light source around, that’s the sun, so I work around her schedule. In the summer that means early morning start times to catch that just after sunrise sun.

Not only do we get gorgeous soft light in the early morning hours, it’s also the coolest time of day which is important in the Georgia heat & humidity.

A key to getting serious closed mouth expressions: keep them cool with early morning summer pet photography sessions and of course treats.
Keeping dogs happy during their pet photography session is all about knowing what they need.

Morning is an important time of day, because how you spend your morning can often tell you what kind of day you are going to have.

Dozer – The French Bulldog Rescue Dog

“Opportunity is missed by people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.”

-Thomas Edison

I saw this quote the other day and saved it to share. Then I photographed Dozer & his mom. Don’t get me wrong, Dozer was an excellent model during our session. But, I was able to see how much work Nancy & Dozer have put in together in the last few years.

2 years ago Dozer was my foster dog after being surrendered. He was no longer useful to the breeder because he didn’t really get along with other dogs. What we noticed immediately in fostering him was that Dozer had a lot of worries.

He spent a lot of his time worrying about other dogs which made getting along with them hard. We knew he needed a family that would help Dozer with his confidence. And Nancy was exactly what he needed.

Nancy & Dozer have worked really hard to help Dozer’s confidence grow. He’s been working with my trainer friends at Canine Country Academy to learn new skills and Nancy has helped him at every step.

Rescuing and fostering can be hard work, but the rewards are worth it. Adopting a dog can be hard work, but I think Nancy would agree… the rewards are worth it.
