Dog Friendly Roswell, Georgia – Pet Photographer Finds Blooms in the City
One of my favorite things about being a pet photographer is finding great pet friendly spots near me. At Jamie’s session in dog friendly Roswell, Georgia we wandered past great dog friendly shops (including restaurants and an art gallery). We also some found some of the most gorgeous blooming flowers to use as backdrops!
I’m a country mouse at heart, so I love finding unexpected natural beauty during urban dog sessions.
Roswell understands the importance of those furry family members, and the need for them to be experiencing the world with you.
As one of the most dog-friendly destinations in the southeast, we welcome you and your pup to our town with open arms!

Photo Location at a Dog Friendly Roswell, Georgia Restaurant
We started our photo session by meeting on dog friendly Roswell’s Canton Street at Cafe Lucia. The restaurant hadn’t quite opened up yet as we started our session early in the morning to beat the crowds. I was immediately drawn to the gorgeous landscaping and blooming flowers in the raised garden beds around the patio.
Not all the dogs I photograph are agility superstars – but Jamie is! Jamie was in Roswell because he was competing in an agility competition at Wills Park Equestrian Center in Alpharetta, Georgia.
Jamie was completely comfortable leaping right up on the edge of the planter. And then he really turned on the charm peeking at me through the flowers.
Unique Dog Friendly Gallery in Roswell
As we continued our walk down Canton Street I continued to notice little dog friendly signs like fresh water bowls out for their canine pedestrians. And after being distracted by absolutely gorgeous light being filtered through trees falling on a cobblestone driveway, I noticed the bright blue painted door at the Raiford Gallery.
I love the opportunity for a pop of color that a bright door gives during our pet photography session. This door was particularly special as it had been hand painted and the artistic touch of brush strokes left in the finish which really gave the entire final image a painterly look.
Jamie happily posed for his photos. I could have taken an entire session’s worth of images just in the spots here at the gallery, but we kept moving down Canton Street. We found another little spot with a stone bench & table tucked into a blooming white azalea.

Dog Friendly Urban Locations Offer Options
Finding a dog friendly urban location near me for pet photography can be tricky. Luckily, I’ve been able to source many locations from unique downtown spots like Roswell to dog friendly Ponce City Market right in the heart of Atlanta.
I love the variety an urban session can give – from cool murals, cobblestone or bricked paths, gorgeous skylines (like in Atlanta’s Piedmont Park), and chic sidewalk shops. I also love finding the natural beauty tucked amongst the buildings.
