every story is unique
Hiring An Expert
When you hire a pet photographer, you are hiring an expert. I not only know ALL of the tricks and tips to create the best images with any four-legged subject but I will also love your furry family member as much as you do. I have been working with rescued animals for more than 10 years.
Albums, Wall Art, & Digital Files
I create custom albums, image boxes, wall art & more from the photographs we take at our session to decorate your home in a way that is completely personal. Together, we bring your story to life. While digital files are available, most of my clients choose to tell their story through art.
Love Your Art - Guaranteed
I guarantee you’ll love your images & your artwork. If for any reason you don’t love the images we create together, I’ll offer you a complimentary re-shoot or a full refund. If the artwork we create just isn’t what you dreamed of, I’ll take it back or replace it.
This is going to be an incredible experience.
While you will find there are no minimums or requirements on what you choose to purchase, many clients choose to enjoy their images through albums and wall art. Digital files are not included in your session reservation fee, but are available for purchase. Digital files are also inluded in my most popular collections.
Client spend ranges from $500 to $5,000 or more.

But my dog won’t sit still!
It’s OK!
I promise you that I successfully photograph untrained and hyper dogs ALL of the time. Your dog will not be the hardest one yet.
I guarantee that we will be able to create images that you love or I’ll refund 100% of the reservation fee.
What you don’t see in the images on my website are the leashes that most of these dogs were wearing when the image was taken! I have several tricks up my sleeve to get the shots that you love, from magically removing leashes in post-production to getting a dog’s attention with irresistible duck calls. We can even create action shots of dogs that can’t be off-leash with a special long line.
You let me know what types of images you love and I have the tools to create them for you!

Photoshop Magic
AT LEAST 95% of the images ON THIS WEBSITE were taken WITH a leash.
Leashes keep your pet safe when working in an unsecured location. Also, many cities and counties require dogs to be leashed when in an un-fenced area. Another reason why leashes are great? They help keep our furry subject in the area we want to work in. Leashes are simply removed during post processing on any final image.

ART & PRODUCTS
In a digital age, why do you want heirloom quality printed art?
There are so many reasons!
Art is meant to be lived with.
Beyond the transitory nature of the digital (remember floppy discs or 8-tracks?) and past the idea of social media likes, a USB drive doesn't make you feel anything.
You don’t smile every time you walk pass that drawer of CDs, but you absolutely do when you walk pass your dog’s photo on the wall. Flipping the pages of your album you can feel his soft furry body while you snuggled in the grass. Your hands remember how warm his fur was after an afternoon in the sunshine. This is what physical artwork can do that digital just cannot.
Don’t get me wrong, I love digital files too. I want the home screen on my phone to be my dog and I want to share her adorable photos all over social media. That’s why I include the social media digital of every printed product and why my most popular collections include high resolution digital files. I want you to have both!
Frequently asked questions
My dog doesn’t know sit or stay. Is that a problem?
That’s ok!
Many of my most favorite portraits have my dog standing and I have a DEEP pocket of unique sounds and tasty treats to keep their attention on me. I’ve worked with 1000’s of shelter dogs who have no idea what sit even means. I promise, your dog will have beautiful portraits, no training required.
My dog can’t be off-leash, can I still do a session?
Yes!
Absolutely! Believe it or not, 95% of the dogs that I photograph are on leash 100% of the time. This not only keeps the flight risks safe, but is also important when photographing in more urban environments, and so that we can follow local leash laws. Thanks to the magic of post processing, leashes will be removed from final images.
What about harnesses or gentle leaders, can they be removed?
I can’t guarantee that harnesses or gentle leaders can be removed in post. If your dog normally wears one of these for walks, I recommend using them for walking to our location and for the periods of time in between – but, suggest a flat or martingale collar to use for the portraits.
My dog is super reactive to other dogs/people/bicycles, how will that work?
I completely understand, the world can be a scary place for all of us sometimes. If your dog is nervous or reactive we can choose a location that suits them. I know some locations that are out of the way and receive very little dog or foot traffic or we can always rent a private location which would ensure that we see no one!

My dog is a never-ending ball of energy, how do you manage high-energy dogs?
My camera shutter speed goes all the way up to 1/8000 of a second – plenty of speed to capture the most active dog! Our sessions never require your dog to sit, stay and behave for hours (or even minutes) on end. One of the benefits of hiring a pet specific photographer is that we know how to manage our hyper clients and still deliver gorgeous images.
Can I be in the images too?
Please be in the images.
I’d love to photograph connection you share. While we will capture traditional portraits of you both smiling at the camera, my clients tend to really love the in between moments that you share together. If you are really camera shy, with a little creativity I can create some beautiful images that tell the story of your relationship in a unique way. Remember. you don’t have to do anything with images that you don’t love, so there is nothing to be afraid of.
What time will our photo session be?
Photograhy is ALL about light. Sessions are scheduled around the light.
On location sessions are scheduled in the two hours after sunrise or the two hours before sunset for the most beautiful light. Studio sessions are the most flexible & can be done anytime, and in home lifestyle sessions are best mid-morning to afternoon.
What if it’s raining?
If the weather is less than ideal we can certainly reschedule! Your reservation retainer is simply transferred over to our new date.
Most studio & indoor lifestyle photography sessions can still happen if the weather is rainy or cloudy.
How do I choose a location?
During planning we will discuss what type of look you envision for your session, what special needs your dog has (such as, he’s reactive to bicycles), what part of town you are located in, and then I’ll offer some suggestions that check all the right boxes! I have a long list of possible locations and can share images of each so you can know what to expect.
Do you photograph pets other than dogs?
Fur, feathers, scales and tails – I photograph them all! While dogs make up the majority of my clients, I love photograph the equine and feline set as well. I’ve photographed horses, donkeys, ferrets, snakes, rats, hamsters, bunnies, cats, & of course dogs. I’d love to photograph your pet.
Is this right for me?
For my clients, our dogs are our best friends, constant companions, and children. Our dogs are spoiled and we enjoy every moment of spoiling them.
They get the best care. We plan vacations we can take them on. We spend hours researching the best foods and treats to keep them healthy and happy. Our dogs have great dog beds that are abandoned for sleeping with us every night.
We truly believe that our dogs deserve a life full of happy and enriching experiences.
We celebrate the incredible gift of the human – animal bond and want artwork in our homes and lives that reflect the relationship we share and tells our incredible stories.
I look forward to meeting your dog! And you, of course!
