Do You Photograph People?

I’ve been lucky to know Natalie & her mom for the last several years thanks to my work at the Humane Society of Morgan County, so when I saw them again at Bark for Life in Madison a couple weeks ago, Donna asked if I ever took photos of people as Natalie needed to get her senior photos done. While I speacilize in pet photography, I learned photography photographing people, and senior sessions are one of my personal favorites. Then she mentioned wanting to get some of Natalie at home and with her goats… and I was sold!

All the Pieces Come Together

We could not have custom ordered better weather! It was a perfect spring day with beautiful afternoon golden hour light. Natalie’s family had just finished work on a beautiful formal garden at the front of the house as well giving us great variety with pasture, woods, porches, and the garden. Add in a beautiful girl, puppies young and old, and goats… well we had a lot of fun laughing and taking photos.

Growing Up

One day when she was two years old she was playing in a garden, and she plucked another flower and ran with it to her mother. I suppose she must have looked rather delightful, for Mrs. Darling put her hand to her heart and cried, ‘Oh, why can’t you remain like this for ever!’ This was all that passed between them on the subject, but henceforth Wendy knew that she must grow up.

Senior Sessions

There is something so unique about a senior session. The transition from child to adult with your entire life stretching out in front of you deserves incredible images. Capturing both who you are as well as who you are becoming is the magic of these photos.
