Pet Photography at Piedmont Park

Dog Photography Session at Piedmont Park

I was so excited to visit Piedmont Park in Atlanta again with Stella the labradoodle and Jeff for her pet photography session. Stella’s dad had let me know that she could be a bit unsure of strangers. As with every dog photography session, we’re always working at her pace with our number one goal being her safety and comfort.

For Stella, I worked with a longer focal length during the begining of our session so I could give her time and distance to get used to me. We started near the top of the hill along 10th Street and then worked our way down towards the pond.

One of the challenges clients have expressed is that when their dogs have a lot of black on their face or around their eyes, it can be hard to photograph them and capture the expression in their dog’s eyes.

Stella’s dad bid on and won his session at the Pets Are Loving Support Gala. I am honored to help support their mission. PALS Atlanta provides ongoing support & care to the pets of Atlanta area persons living with disabilities due to HIV/AIDS and terminal illnesses, and the elderly. With the help of PALS Atlanta, pets & owners stay together to share the healing power of love & companionship which flows from the human-animal bond.

Capturing the incredible human-animal bond is why I am dog photographer. When planning your dog’s pet photography session, an important part to remember is that you also want to capture the relationship you share.
