Announcing the 2026 Athens Area Horse Community Calendar Photo Contest
I’m super excited to announce I’m partnering with the Athens Area Horse Community once again for their horse photo calendar contest!
The Athens Area Horse Community has been connecting the local horse community since 2010. AAHC exists to help local horse people solve the problems they collectively face and to offer opportunities for growth and improvement. They focus on serving horse people that reside within an hour of Athens, Georgia, and are dedicated to the growth of the local community so that horses are here for future generations.
AAHC works to unite the horse community – to partner with county and state level leadership, fight for sustainable development of green space, and offer education for both horse lovers and the general public.
The Athens Area Horse Community 2026 Calendar will include data that is useful for horse owners specific to our area. Information included in each month will include when to vaccinate, check fecal floats for deworming and when to administer dewormer for each parasite known to our area, when to spray weeds coming to our area, reminders to mow for organic pasture management, and when to plant certain types of grasses.
100% of the proceeds from the Horse Calendar Contest submissions, voting, and sales of the calendar will go directly to Athens Area Horse Community to aid in their dedication to sustainably stimulate the growth of the local horse community.
The winners of the photo contest will be determined by the top entrants that get the most votes. The top vote getters will have their horse professionally photographed by yours truly for the 2026 calendar.
Entry & voting begins at 8:00 AM EST March 22nd and ends at 10:00 PM EST April 26th 2025
Grand Prize:
The top winner will win the coveted cover photo for the 2026 calendar!
Other Winners:
Further winners will have their horse featured as a horse of the month.
Last year’s calendar contest raised over $6,200 and the money was used to offer first responders training for the skills and knowledge they need for better outcomes at emergencies involving horses. Over 50 people attended the 2 day course and over 40 of those were first responders that were able to attend for no-cost. This year I’d love to double our impact!
