WELCOME

I’m delighted you’re considering a Signature Pet Portrait Session.

This guide covers the most frequently asked questions, so we can focus on what matters most: how to best celebrate the relationship you share.

I photograph a limited number of clients each month to offer a truly personalized, relaxed experience for everyone involved. That’s why I share all the details up front — to make sure all of your questions are answered so you can move forward confidently.

“Our boys mean the absolute  world to us and we’re so thankful to have beautiful photos that capture them so well!"

THE MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION:

What if my pet won’t sit still or needs to be leashed?

All of our companions can be photographed beautifully. In fact, some of the best images happen while they move, jump, or play. I bring a variety of treats and unique sounds to grab their attention—and with a little editing magic, I make leashes disappear from your final images.

“I was worried after my boys were so chaotic during the shoot. Once I saw the photos though, I was absolutely  floored  – they were perfect.

Happiness Guaranteed

Love your images—or I’ll refund your reservation fee  and  donate $100 in your dog’s name to animal rescue.

She is so patient and creative, and managed to take so many stunning photos it was nearly impossible for me to narrow down the ones I chose!”

How It Works

  • I want to hear every detail: their quirks, favorite treats, the way they look at you when it’s time for a walk.

    Together we’ll determine:

    • The perfect location (outdoor, studio, or at home)

    • Who’s joining. Humans, pets, horses—everyone’s invited.

    • Best timing for lighting and your pet’s energy level

    • How you envision showcasing the final images

Whether you know exactly what you want or need guidance, I’ll help you plan a session that becomes beautiful, meaningful art in your home.

  • This is where the magic unfolds! The session is about connection, not perfection:

    • We move at your pet’s pace. Sniffs, wiggles, zoomies are all typical and part of the process.

    • We explore and adapt. We’ll move around, finding the best locations and lighting as we go.

If your dog won’t sit still, if your horse keeps turning their head, don’t worry—Some of the best images come from unplanned, in-between moments.

  • About two weeks later, you’ll receive a personalized video reveal of your images.

    • Make it a celebratory occasion! Enjoy take-out or a glass of wine, get comfy and press play.

    • See your custom artwork layouts. Album designs, wall art mockups, perhaps even a few playful bloopers for fun.

    • Artwork typically arrives in 6 weeks (hand-brushed canvas may take up to 12). It’ll be ready to display right out of the box.

    • Digital images will be delivered via an online gallery for easy downloading and sharing.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Choosing what to wear for your dog’s photo session can send even the most fashion-forward among us into a full-on closet crisis — flinging everything we own to the floor and insisting we have nothing to wear.

That’s why I put together a full What to Wear Guide.

  • Not at all. Most dogs wear leashes or are in fenced areas. I use editing magic to create off-leash artwork safely.

  • All of them! Your reservation covers every pet in your immediate family—dogs, cats, horses, and more.

  • Yes! Most clients are surprised how much they enjoy seeing the connection captured. These portraits become even more treasured over time.

  • The world can be a scary place for us all sometimes. I can recommend secluded locations or private rentals, and use a longer lens to photograph them from a farther distance. Every dog can have beautiful portraits.

  • We’ll talk through options during the consultation. Horses are typically photographed at their barns. Cats, at home. For dogs, I’ll help you select a location that has the perfect look and will be most comfortable for them.

  • I will simply transfer your reservation retainer to a new date. I will prioritize your booking so we can reschedule without delay.

  • Yes. I do my best to accommodate these sessions on short notice. Just let me know when you inquire that it’s urgent. More about end-of-life sessions here.

  • Most clients choose to turn their favorite images into tangible artwork—something they can see and enjoy every day.

You’ll have access to both Signature Collections (bundled for ease and value) and à la carte options to fit your space and preferences. I’ll guide you through the choices and help you design pieces that match your vision.
